In a future release, Genesys Cloud will introduce a new permission that allows administrators to control which user roles can send outgoing emails. By default, all users working with emails can send emails. With this update, administrators can specify, by permission, which roles (standard or custom), have the ability to send emails. This change is beneficial for organizations with strict email validation processes. By restricting the default Send function, companies can incorporate their own validation steps using a custom app widget or script. This permission also applies when customers invoke our API.

To ensure a smooth transition, the new permission will be automatically added to existing roles that can create or accept emails before the feature is officially announced. However, administrators who remove this permission before the update goes live will prevent users from sending emails once the feature is released.
